Camp Three, Day Five.

Thursday at Camp Gailor-Maxon focuses around service. The chapel program for the morning had a lesson of listening for God's message through others and what we find is that in serving others, we can hear God's message.

In family groups we made drawings of people we hear God through. After family groups we had free time before lunch:

Then it was lunch time. Yum!

After lunch and siesta (spelled Q-U-I-E-T) we split into groups to go do our community service. The majority of the kids went down to the Sherwood Community Center to decorate for the 4th of July:

Here's our American flag project we made!

Another group went to the nursing home across the street to visit, sing, and do crafts with the residents. Here is some of the group singing:

The last group stayed on campus to work on thank you notes for our wonderful volunteers and all the people who helped make camp possible  - the bus drivers, the kitchen lovelies, etc.

The Dubose group also went and picked up trash on the playground - then got to play!

That night after dinner the kids had cabin skits and then had a little talent show. Everyone had a great time and there were some talented acts! More to come on Friday's fun!
