Thursdays at Camp Gailor-Maxon center around the concept of community service. In the afternoon the campers were presented with their choice of three activities. The campers could sign up to go visit people and sing at the nursing home across from our campus, they could ride the bus down the mountain to Sherwood to the community center which needs a little love and cleaning prior to its big fourth of July party, or they could stay on campus and weed beds out front, which helps the wonderful people who work so hard to keep our grounds beautiful.
Here's the Dubose crew:
And the Sherwood crew, who had lots of work!
After service projects, everyone came back and swam in the pool before dinner. After dinner the campers were given some time to come up with cabin skits. Then it was time for the big show - Skit Night and Coffee House.
Here are some of the skits - Cabin 6 Left side did the ever popular counselor skit:
Cabin 5 Right Side did a news show:
And Cabin 2 did a re-enactment of when they all got rejected by the girls at camp when asking them to the dance.
Then it was time for Coffee House, which is a showcase of talents. The counselors had a running skit - this time Phil and Cody were going on a historical tour of Dubose and Meredith was leading the tour. Each act was a stop on the history tour.
And with that, another night at camp came to an end, just like the others - with Compline and snack. More later from the last day of Camp Two!
