Here are the hikers:
And here are some shots of the rappellers. Like the rock climbing, the rangers from the South Cumberland State Park lead our rappelling adventure.
The last group stayed on campus. They swam, played on the playground, and did arts and crafts.
After dinner the campers played large group games in the downstairs chapel. The first game they played was called "evolution" where you play rock/paper/scissors in pairs and try to emerge from an egg to a chicken to a monkey to a human to a super human. It is silly and fun.
Then we played a game where you say "Have you ever..." and insert something like "been in an airplane" and if you have, you have to run across the room without being tagged.
Finally we danced the CGM Line dance - we taught it first and then played the song:
As the sun set it was finally time for the main event: Counselor Hunt! The counselors went off to hide and the campers wrote "charges" for the counselors "crimes" that they were being hunted for...
Then the counselors were on the hunt as the kids went off in their family groups to find the hidden counselors. All were found but two and a good time was had by all - the counselors who were found "guilty" (aka found in their hiding spot) were pushed in the pool.
It was another successful day at Camp Gailor-Maxon! Until next time...
